Resolving Stress


All of us face interactions with our surroundings and circumstances that may be said to generate stress.  Some of us deal with the situation, and the stress disappears.  For others, the stress seems to stick around and build up.  Every stressful situation adds to the burden of stress we carry.

Our society has a myth that there is nothing that can be done for someone who carries too much stress, except to medicate them.  Some of those choose tranquilizers and some self-medicate with alcohol or recreational drugs.

Actually there is something that can be done for stress: it can be released.  While a person does not choose to be bothered by stress, they can learn things that enable them to release the stress, just as some do naturally.

All of us learned how to deal with the world as little children.  We did not have all the experience and resources at age 4 that we have now.  So, we may have learned to cope in ways that lead to stress building up until we have a chronic illness.  Our society is willing to accept the idea that the body normally heals itself, whether from a cold, or from a broken bone.  The question must then be asked: “If a broken bone will heal in three months time, why doesn’t the body heal asthma, or a damaged artery, or MS?”  The answer is that stress is blocking the healing.

But now that we have the maturity that comes with age, and the wisdom that comes from our many experiences, we actually have the resources to deal with the world more powerfully than we could as small children.  When you learn exactly what it is that is getting in your way, you can begin healing whatever “chronic” illness you struggle against.  Even your struggle with your illness adds stress that makes it harder.

Every person is an individual, and so every person has a unique way of dealing with situations.  That is why I have NLP techniques, Time Line Therapy®, hypnotherapy, and EFT to bring to bear on your problems.  Any of these may be used to give you access to the other 90% of the brain.  When you use your entire mind, you, too, can be free of the burden of stress.
